Recommended Use with Pets: Heat mats work best when mounted to the back or side of the doghouse. This allows your pet to get away from the heat if it gets too hot next to the mat. Heat Mats can cause burns, so please use with caution. Blankets, straw or hay should never be used with a heat mat.
Sulcata turtle broke it again by pulling out cord. LOL. It's not the products fault, he's a digger and stong puller
love the heating pads we use them to warm cold calves
I purchased a couple of these last year to put on my greenhouse benches to give my orchids a little extra heat during the Winter. It is amazing how efficiently they work. They are extremely tough and should last for many years.
We bought this mat to heat our small goat house. It was advertised as a livestock mat and said to heat to 30 degrees F above ambient temperature. We mounted it on the wall. After running all night the mat was barely warm to the touch. It certainly did not heat even inches away from the mat. We tried it 3 nights in a row and same results. We hope we can return the mat.
This is a nice heat pad but my 200 pound sulcata turtle (Kubu) has got tangled in the cord and pulled it out of the fiberglass (twice). You cannot fix it without cutting into the unit. I need to figure out a better way of securing the cord and pad... It's laid on concrete pavers. Oh well bought number 3...
