Recommended Use with Pets: Heat mats work best when mounted to the back or side of the doghouse. This allows your pet to get away from the heat if it gets to hot next to the mat. The Kane Baby Pig Heat Mats can cause burns, so please use with caution. Blankets, straw or hay should never be used with a baby pig heat mat.

The size said that it was 48", but the extra 1" strip makes it 49". So, add 1" to any size that you purchase. Other than that, the pigs like it and seems to keep them warm on cold days and nights.
Very happy with our mat to keep piglets warm. This is our 2nd year raising pigs and all the piglets are doing well
Great for Tortoises with caution
I have used kane mats for years for heating tortoise huts. The mats are mounted on the wall and the tortoises sit next to or against the mat. I have never had a problem. Caution! Follow the warning on the mat. If the mat is on the floor and any debris builds up on the mat it will overheat and catch fire.
Great Feral Cat Shelters
We use the Kane mats for inside our feral cat shelters. The length allows several cats to line up side by side. The cats love them and it keeps them alive through the harsh winters. We neuter them and do our best to do what we can to make up for them being thrown out in the street by their owners. The Kane mats make the mean street a little nicer. urbancatleague
