More about Quantem® Digital Fan & Heater Controller
This Quantem® Digital Fan & Heater Controller modulates fan speed according to temperature change. The fan slows to idle speed when the temperature drops below the adjustable set point and increases to maximum speed as the temperature rises from the set point to 6° F above the set point.
This fan and heater controller has a NEMA4 moisture-proof enclosure and a fan stop position with a 3-second kick-start. It has universal line power 96/264 VAC. Fans will automatically turn off and the controller will regulate the heater output at 2° F to 20° F below the set point.
Temperature Range: 35° F - 95° F
Dimensions: 4.3" W x 3.9" D x 5.9" H
I searched a long time for a temperature-modulating fan control. For me, this one was the right compromise of price and features. The digital read-out lets me know its working, and it is a massive improvement over my previous simple thermostat. Only ding for me was that the instructions could be more user friendly.
This unit has just one set-point, to keep temperature within a single temperature bracket. Unfortunately, to adjust set point, and fan cut-out point, you have to shut off the power to the unit, access the inner back panel, and adjust potentiometers near the main power supply wires. So it is not very convenient, and the diagram sent with the unit indicates the design was done in 1992.
I did not install the unit, but returned it without a problem. I am getting a Ranco model ETC-141000-000 thermostat for heat control, and a separate Titan Mercury 3 variable speed fan control, both together for a little less $ than the Quantem controller.
