More about Hi-Lo Heat Lamp
A Strong, Rugged Heat Lamp.
The triple corrosion-protected steel cap and reflector on the Hi-Lo Heat Lamp are pre-treated, zinc-coated, and epoxy painted with a reflective silver color to prevent corrosion and improve heating.
The deep reflector improves bulb protection along with the strong, plated wire guard, which is pinned to hinge open for easy bulb replacement. The High/Low/Off push-button switch is conveniently located on the side of the unit and is totally sealed for long life.
Specifications:
- Reflector Diameter: 11"
- Reflector Depth: 6"
- Voltage: 115
- Maximum Bulb Capacity: 250 Watt
- Cord: 10' Grounded
- Case Quantity: 10
- Weight: 3 lbs/case
Note: Heat bulb is not included.
Love the on and off switch and hi/lo setting. Only complaint was trying to get the bulb protecting cage on the fixture. Very heavy duty fixture compared to any other we have seen. Used to provide heat for ferral cats we have in an enclosed pen.
Very well made and the hi - lo option is excellent for being able to regulate heat on new born pigs versus when they are three weeks old. Switched to these also due to safety concerns with other less expensive heat lamps.
Sturdy and looking good!
Used this lamp for piglets and chicks. Highly recommended. The high/low settings are a must. Very durable.
I agree with a previous comment on its difficulty in removing the grill to change the bulb. However that is infrequent and the bombproof aspect of this cage, the dual switch, hi / lo, rubber boot over the switch, ceramic protected bulb insert, heavy gauge metal. equals the best I've seen and used ....big bonus points.
This brooder lamp is now in the same space occupied by the chickens and converted into two-dog house. It's on a timer to cut down on cost, I hope. Highly recommend. Manufacture date on mine is 2007. Still like new working condition.
