My husband asked me to get a handful of these, he is always using his friends on cattle projects. Seriously one of the best inventions ever. The vet we worked with yesterday told me they were the best invention ever as well. I saw a person worried about wasting a bit in the tube. Honestly, I don't know how this works on if you can save it, we work with a lot of expensive injectables and I'm okay with it. So much easier, faster, safer. You will not regret having these on hand!
Takes a little bit of practice, but this is the ONLY way to vaccinate sows in a group setting. Give them a little feed and it goes even easier. Less stress on the sows, no wasted vaccine, and a huge time saver!
We were able to worm our nine pigs in 15 minutes (not counting filling syringes and other prep). We worked in tandem with me doing the needle placement and my spouse doing the injection. The only concern I have is the length of time for the tubing to dry. Hoping for no fungal or bacterial contamination.
With a couple sows that hate shots, having this makes things so much easier. No more snaring, needing family to help. able to give shots and cause the sows a lot less stress.
If you've ever given pigs shots and tried to wrestle them down it's quite a feet! But with slap shot it's a breeze! Best device ever.
