More about Sierra Select Upright Tail Marking Paint - 15 oz
Sierra Select Upright Tail Marking Paint sprays in an upright position and is oil-based, making it weatherproof. You can even apply it to wet cows. Use to quickly detect standing heat by producing easy-to-interpret results. Color won’t wash away and lasts up to 4 weeks.
Features
- Allows convenient marking of the tail without holding the can at uncomfortable angles
- Oil-based, weatherproof paint
- Provides good color visibility & remains on the tail until rubbed off during mounting
- 15 oz aerosol can
- Binds well to the hair preventing deep penetration, loss of color visibility & excessive spraying of the tail
- Color will last up to 4 weeks unless the animal is shedding its coat
- The oil-based paint is not affected by moisture & will not wash away
- Each can is non-clogging & empties completely
Uses: To mark the cow for standing heat. Not recommended for livestock identification as the purpose of the paint is to be rubbed off.
Application: Shake can well before use and for 1 to 2 minutes after the agitator ball is heard. Apply paint 8" to 10" to make a 2" tail mark. Start the mark at the tail head and move down the tail 6". It is important to hit all of the contact points when a cow is mounted. Keep can in motion during use to prevent heavy build-up, which can make interpreting the mark difficult. Agitate can periodically during application. For best results, use at temperatures between 60° F and 80° F
