This Dutton-Lainson brake winch for horizontal pulling and vertical lifting applications features a 800 lb. capacity and a built in fully automatic friction brake holds load exactly in position when raising and lowering. The hardware is powder coated with zinc plated TUFFPLATE®. A 7" handle with ergonomic handle grip is included. Color may vary. Made in the U.S.A. NOTE: This winch requires a 50 lb. minimum operating load to function properly.

rugged & good value

Left a heavy weight with little effort. Caveats: the winch has to be well mounted to a fixed platform, or tethered to something unmovable (eg. a tree). Getting the cable to spool evenly requires attention, but that was expected. It will corrode if left outdoors, but is heavily constructed and cosmetic rust does no harm.
Great for when you don't have access to a power source.

Just what I wanted!

I bought this to finish building a rig to safely raise and lower my sailboat mast. Excellent service and the best price (I saved $20 plus another $30 in gas over what I would have paid driving to a in-state dealer for the exact same winch). Thanks QC!
