Over the past 9 years we have struggled to cool our horse stalls with a variety of caged fans, usually from our local farm supply. After going through several temporary failures (always after cleaning the non-sealed fans...) and several permanent failures, we decided to look for more robust, better sealed, safer stall fans. These really do fit that billing perfectly. The motor is completely external of the cage. It is sealed against water and dust. I believe I can literally hose these off, cleaning the blades and cages without any water migrating into the electrical circuits at all! They are markedly quieter than the farm supply stores' fans, no rattles or small chain saw noises, just the hum of air being moved very efficently! I mounted the three fans we ordered using the accessory Durafan wall mount brackets on the exposed 6x6 studs between stalls. The brackets mounted easily and hold the fans securely. I just ordered a rheostat to control the fans as well. So finally, after all this trial and error, we are in business here with happy horses!
I just installed three 20" Durafans over our horse stalls using these mounts. I put the mounts up on 6x6 exposed studs between the stalls. I used three 1/2"x4" Hex Head Screws (3 each,) the brackets mounted easily and hold the fans very securely. The fans mount on a spring-loaded that can be turned right or left easily while still holding themselves in position. The tilt of the fan is done with the main securing screw and bolt and locked into place with a smaller screw and bolt in the same fitting. (Both supplied with the mount.) These mounts are very stable and strong. I am really pleased with how well they fit the Durafans!
We purchased a LARGE hanging plant which was about 32 inches from side to side and found that most if not all hangers were too small for a pot this size. Stumbled across this bracket far a fan and it works great with an S clip as a large hanging plant holder. It was so good we bought 2 and added an additional LARGE hanging plant. Made my wife happy and a happy wife makes for a happy household.
Nice quality!
Fan comes with a mount however to swivel and position maximally this should be ordred as an accessory. Mounts easier and has more versatility.
