More about Brower® Galvanized Two Hole Hog Feeder
Constructed of heavy 20 gauge galvanized steel for years of service, the Brower Galvanized Two Hole Hog Feeder features an adjustable feed gate at trough with fast feed flow and a 1" (2.54 cm) wide feed saver lip. Designed for pigs from 4 weeks old to sows, the feeder includes a heavy weather-tight hinged lid to keep out moisture and pests. The lids opens toward the front for easy access. The top cover raises from back for easy filling without disturbing the hogs. Includes keyhole slots for hanging. Some assembly required.
Dimensions: 23" W x 20" L x 36" H
Capacity: 3.7 bushels (8 hogs)
Weight: 49 lbs.
This is my second feeder. I find that the legs get bent very easily and I added heavy galvanized metal straps across the back and the bottom to help with this problem.
Holds up to my three pigs just fine. We took some of the suggestions from others and when we assembled it used locking washers and some butterfly bolts. Took a bit for the pigs to figure it out with the doors, but now that they have, there's no problem. Love that it holds 150 pounds of food easily.
While the sheet metal is great for keeping the rain out, the bolts will vibrate loose when 300lb pigs are eating out of it. Nots and bolts need to come with lock washers, or the nuts need to be replaced with nylon lock nuts.
Does a good job at a fair price. Sturdy enough for my piggies. Top hing can get a bit bogged down if to close to Tpost or tree etc. Placing it next to hog panel works best. Would suggest this for a smaller group. It is strong enough for pigs to itch themselves and still not warp. Definitely a good buy.
We have ordered three of these feeders and none of them came bent. It took my husband and ten year old grandson about an hour to put one together. Make sure that all of the bolts and nuts are secure since we did have a wing nut come off and never found it. ????
