More about CBM Lighting McGill Globe Adapter - Tall Profile
Get a water-tight seal around McGill light fixture bases and CBM Lighting LED bulbs with this Globe Adapter. A great alternative to globe-type fixtures with spiral fluorescent bulbs, like what is in farm buildings, warehouses, factories, and the food industry, these adapters allow you to easily convert to LED bulbs. This fire-resistant, injection-molded adapter removes the need for protective globe housing and allows for easier cleaning, increased bulb size, and better heat dissipation.
Maximize your energy efficiency by putting light where you need it most. CBM Lighting gives you the option to install both 12 watt and 7 watt bulbs with the same adapter, allowing for a combination of both watts in the same room. This lets you place more aggressive 12 watt lighting in alleyways and 7 watt in animal spaces, or whatever configuration is needed.
No more globes to clean. Simply dampen and power wash bulbs and fixtures to remove fly specs and dust when needed.
Select Housing Type
- If the housing is level with socket, you will need the low profile adapter. These are designed for Superior Fixtures. QC Part #63496
- If the housing is 1/2" below the socket, you will need the medium profile adapter. These are designed for utility/ceramic fixtures. QC Part #63495
- If the housing is 1" below the socket, you will will need the tall profile adapter. These are designed for McGill Fixtures. QC Part #63494
Easy to Install
- Remove globe
- Remove existing bulb
- Remove existing base gasket. This may need to be scraped off if the gasket has melted to the base of the fixture
- Install CBM adapter
- Install CBM bulb. Confirm proper gasket orientation*
*When properly installed, the rubber base gasket will roll-up onto itself as the bulb is screwed into the base, resulting in the outside edges of the gasket pointing away from the screw base. Confirm gasket is sealed evenly around the base of the bulb. If uneven, repeat the process.
Bulb & Adapter Maintenance: While CBM bulbs and adapters are rated to withstand up to 2,500 PSI water pressure, it is best to not subject electrical components to extensive high-pressure water exposure. It is recommended to keep the end of your high-pressure wand at least 18" from the bulb when cleaning. Best practice is to dampen bulbs first with a light mist to blow off dust and loosen fly specs, then follow with a final rinse 5-15 minutes later.
