Medicator and injector problems can show up fast, suction gets inconsistent, and a system that was working suddenly won’t pull the way it should. The good news is most issues come back to a few predictable wear points and a simple calibration check.
This guide walks through a practical tune-up for common injector setups, including Dosatron D14MZ2, Dosmatic SuperDos 20, Dosmatic SuperDos 45, and Chemilizer™ so you can continue with consistent dosing and fewer surprises.
When medicators and injectors are off, the cost isn’t just the part, it’s:
For livestock operations, that can mean inconsistent delivery during critical windows. For greenhouses, small dosing errors can create big variability across crops. For commercial facilities, inconsistency usually shows up as higher chemical spend or uneven cleaning performance.
If you’ve ever found yourself turning the dial repeatedly to “make it right,” it’s usually a sign the medicator/injector needs service and not more adjustments.
Write down:
Where the injector is installed (single line vs shared line
Check for:
What “good” looks like: secure fittings, clear tubing, no seepage, steady suction.
Most injector headaches start at the pickup.
Greenhouse note - If you fight algae/biofilm or precipitate, plan to clean strainers more often. Frequent small restrictions can make dosing inconsistent.
This is the “reset” that brings most injectors back to reliable performance.
Dosatron D14MZ2: seal + check valve refresh
If your D14MZ2 draw is inconsistent, loses prime, or won’t hold ratio, worn seals and a tired check valve are common culprits. Replacing the wear points before busy season is usually faster (and cheaper) than troubleshooting mid-week.
Dosmatic SuperDos 20 (2.5%): wear parts reset
When a SuperDos unit “kind of works” but doesn’t stay consistent, it’s often wear-related—internal wear points that affect suction and repeatability. Refresh the wear parts, then verify performance with a calibration check.
Recommended kit:
• Dosmatic™ SuperDos® 20 2.5% Wear Parts Kit E
Dosmatic SuperDos 45: restore consistency with a model-matched wear kit
If your SuperDos 45 drifts, pulses, or won’t maintain a steady pull, start with wear items and system stability (pressure + filtration). A model-matched kit is a practical starting point for bringing performance back without “dial chasing.”
Recommended kit: Dosmatic™ A Series & SuperDos® Wear Parts Kit A (for applicable models)
Chemilizer users (1:128)
If you run a Chemilizer setup, a scheduled rebuild can reduce downtime and help maintain predictable draw—especially when water quality or injected products are tough on parts.
Recommended kit: Chemilizer™ Viton Pump Rebuild Kit 1:128
• Keep a wear kit on the shelf before treatment periods.
• If multiple buildings share water, pressure swings can affect consistency—check performance under normal load.
• Consistency is everything: stable pressure + filtration + periodic calibration.
• Watch for precipitate and biofilm. If you’re fighting clogged emitters, start by checking injector strainers and intake.
• Consistent dilution improves results and controls chemical spend.
• Put the tune-up and calibration test into a simple SOP so performance doesn’t depend on one person.

If you know your model and ratio range, you can match the right wear kit quickly and get your injector back to consistent performance.
