I plan to use these 3/4 MIP X 3/8 Barbed fitting as part of an assembly of PVC pipe and fittings filled with marble chips to neutralize the condensate discharge from high efficiency boilers and warm air furnaces.

Nice Nylon Barb Fitting

I recieved these, and they fit a 5/8 hose very nicely. I plan on using them to hook up two rain barrels together with a piece of hose in between. I think they will be sturdy enough.
