Once you've tried to understand the instructions including the minuscule picture (upside down) and you've realized that 'L' & 'R' are marked backwards on the mounting brackets so you didn't need to go down to hardware store after all to purchase a grinding wheel that will actually make the thing face down, you've actually got a very fine machine here which moves a lot of air makes you feel like you're sitting by the ocean front. Also pretty cool how it sounds like a Douglas Dakota just before take-off when it's cranked up to setting III.
We own three of these, all outdoors, in our back yard and side patio, cooling things off and keeping the mosquitos away. Can't get through a NC summer without them.
We bought this fan for an outdoor area at our main Police Department. Works great to beat the Texas heat. It moves a lot of air. We have had it over a month with no issues.
Good price good product fast delevery
Bought this for a patio. Seems sturdy with good circulation. The ocilation isn't as smooth as I wanted and the assembly instructions we pitiful, but I would still recommend this product.
This is a great fan all the way around. Three speeds, moves air, feels like it is well made, you can turn on / off the oscillating feature with a push of a button. I tried a couple of other Oscillating fans in the 20" family in the $100 range. They were poorly made so I doubled down on this $212 fan and you can certainly tell the difference. This is one of those products where you should spring the extra dollars to get a good bang for your buck. It is heavy, so just be prepared when you are mounting this thing. Great fan - highly recommended!
We installed this fan on our back deck. It does a great job moving the muggy hot air and makes sitting on the deck quite lovely! Even kept most of the mosquitoes away! Well made product.
the quality of the fan is not in question as I have not used it yet
No no instructions on placement of the fan blade the directions say tighten with a Phillips head screwdriver it has a hex bolt? I contacted customer service and the young lady was obviously not trained to answer questions in her defense she tries her best. so I'm wondering if there's a missing part? or if they're asking you just to guess and judge the fan installation onto the drive shaft? instructions to say the least it's a quick fix but someone's got to at least try to make the directions clear on spacing to avoid damage to the fan blades I don't take anything for granted when it comes to installation or assembly especially if it will void the warranty. to me typical negligence of American factory workers
I'm using the fan outside on an uncovered patio. The fan does a good job moving air with the three speeds, and I do not find the noise objectionable, but then again it is in a totally unenclosed area. I also accommodated the small tilt range. The only issue I found was that the fan blades are riveted to a shaft mount, and the rivets were not fully set. After setting the rivets with a hammer and punch, the blades were no longer loose. Also, the bag holding the fasteners in the package bad broken in shipment and one washer was missing, but I came up with a replacement.
Fans were easy to install and work great. They seem to be well constructed.
Makes my deck bearable in the Florida Summer
Real nice Product- I installed 26 of Durafans Products
I purchased three of these fans for my horses' stalls. For the most part, the fans do exactly what they say they will do; they move a lot of air, the tilt issue is problematic but being aware of it before I purchased the fans was helpful. We added additional washers behind the fans and the horses seem to be happier with the air, after getting over their fear of them. They seem to be well made and fairly sturdy. Only time will tell if they were truly worth the money.
Great Fan bad on tilt
The fan is really great for moving air even at the low speed. Do need to research where to place the fan in order to lower the fan to get the best air flow.
Great product and easy to asemble.
Just received and installed. So far very impressed with quality and operation. Was very easy to assemble. I read some derogatory comments on assembling but I had no issues at all. I do have a good assortment of tools and that may be a factor. However it does not take much to assemble. So far I call it a great buy.
over all I'd recommend and I'm a picky SOB! lol
Hi, Ordered 2 fans, smooth transaction, shipped quickly and arrived earlier than the UPS tracking estimate. Fans look good, seem well made, move quite a bit of air and reasonably quiet. Now for what I didn't like, tightening the fan blade as already mentioned is hell, and by the way you want to set the blade as far back (close to the motor) on the shaft as possible ( spin the blade to just clear the rear guard ) now the farther back you get the harder it is to tighten unless someone has tools I don't ( a small 5/16" fits but no room ), I was able to get fairly tight after a lot of struggle but still wasn't happy the blade was going to stay on so I put on a very small hose clamp on the outside of the shaft to help hold the blade on. Also those safety grills weigh a TON! I suggest to take the front grill off and probably double the lifespan of the fan oscillator mech. and get a lot better air flow as well, you'll notice it's still protected quite a bit from the back grill and your not likely to not notice it either, but of course depends on your personal situation (kids, ect.). I didn't find limited tilt a problem like some (lower it down maybe?). Anyway, overall I'm happy and they are decent fans.
Fan seemed to be very high quality. Easy to install, very powerful.
Happy horses. worked through the tilt problem.
The fan is made quite well. The purpose for ordering a better made fan was for stable fire safety. My three horses share the fan through the oscillation process. They are happy!
The tilt problem was a bit annoying, but I found that if I turned the brackets around (right on left, left on right), that I got a little more tilt, enough for my needs. It may be my imagination. I can also lower it down the wall if need be. I hope I am not causing a design problem.
The one problem I encountered was tightening the set screw on the fan blade shaft. It took a little work. I could not find a socket to fit the square head. Also I was not sure how far I needed to put the fan on the shaft, so I spaced it equally between the front and back so as not to hit the cage.
We love it. I didn't want a ceiling fan on my patio and this fan works great. We can stop it and have it blowing on just a certain area of the patio or have it cooling the entire patio. 3 speeds. I would recommend it.
