After hours of searching I purchased your fan and we love it so much we want another nearer the pool. Works and looks so great that our friends have asked for info. I recommend this fan to anyone needing a premium product at a reasonable price.
i bought 2 of these. I also agree that there is not nearly enough downward tilt, especially if you mount them high enough for a tall person to be able to walk under them.
I modified the bracket and yes the fan cage can touch the mounting arm if you tilt it too far. Just tilt it far enough as to not hit the arm.
All of this could be avoided if the mounting arm was bent in the opposite direction. Then there would be nothing for the fan cage to hit. Seems like a cheap and simple fix. Other than that they are great and I am ordering a third today.
I have a 35x1 screened porch, also live in Florida. it can get extremely hot here.I put 2 of these fans in each side of the room. it makes it very comfortable to sit out there with the fans running. This is our smoking room, they clear the air in seconds. I happened to increase the tilt on them without a lot of trouble. I can't understand any negative reviews These fans are awesome.
Good, but may need modification.
This product does not have more than a 15 degree tilt. If one has a sharp drill bit he may be able to achieve about a 30 degree angle. The problem is the fan cage will rattle on the supporting bar. To remedy this use a 4 inch long piece of black rubber tubing sliced down the middle around the bar. Am very happy with result. Wish Durafan would offer misting kits for their fans.
Three years and still going strong!
We bought this fan three years ago. It has been outside in the elements, on the abor, ever since and works great. It is durable and quiet. My only complaints are that the lowest speed is still very strong, I wish it would go slower. There is very little tilt from the wall bracket, I wish it would tilt lower. But it really cools and moves the air - and mosquitos.
So far so great!
Finally after 2 years of not enjoying my pergola to it's fullest this fan makes it possible to be cool outdoors without a lot of noise. We love it.
Excellent product. Very quiet even on high. Only limitation is tilt angle of 15 degrees.
Beat the Texas Heat
Great airflow, even on low! Our deck is now tolerable in the tremendous Texas heat.
Caution before buying!!
Ordered 3 fans and installed. The details of fan show that the fan can tilt 80 degrees. This is so untrue. The fans only tilt 15 degrees @ best. After calling tech support at QC Supply, they also agreed that the fan will only tilt 15 degrees downward. Have fans mounted at approximate 8' in height. If you would like to feel the air movement from the fan I would suggest looking at different types of wall mount fans that allow for more tilt. Fans do move a lot of air, but I'd like to feel the movement of air. Disappointed!!
**QC Supply Response**
Due to the design of the mounting bracket on the motor as well as the actual bracket itself, downward tilt is limited to 15 degrees. Full tilt range from top to bottom is 80 degrees. In cases where additional downward tilt is needed, we recommend customer's add a wedge into the mounting bracket.
