It’s funny how during the summer season, we want to stay inside because we can’t deal with the temperatures being 100 degrees. But come winter, we count the days until the warm summer days are back and the sun is out longer. How about when there is a chill in the air, roads are covered in ice, there is a fresh layer of snow on the ground and all you wish you were doing is working on projects to get ready for the warm season but you can’t because it’s too cold outside.

Well here at QC Supply, we don’t think there is no reason why you should have to forgo working in your garage because it’s too cold. We believe every customer should enjoy the comfort of working on projects in a nice heated garage.

Garage heaters provide you with the warmth you need in just a few minutes depending on the size of your space and the type of heater you purchase.

When it comes to choosing a garage heater, there are three items to consider:

  1. Consider the size of your garage/workspace and the location of where you would install one.
    • If the space of the area you want to heat is small, purchasing a heater that is too powerful may cause your working space to get hot and stuffy.
  2. What type of power source will you be using for the heater and the amount of warmth the heater generates.
    • Garage heaters can be powered by electricity, propane or even natural gas.
      • Electric Heaters – Work well in medium/small areas.
      • Natural Gas – Preferred heating choice and is efficient and clean source.
      • Fan Forced – If you have a large garage, then a powerful fan forced heater is a great choice as it can fill the space for a long period of time.
  3. The heaters power capacity such as the wattage or the level of BTU it can produce is also something to consider.
    • Small heaters – Generate from 4,000 to 9,000 BTU (sufficient for 250sq ft of space)
    • Large heaters – Generate from 30,000 – 125,000 BTU (sufficient for 1000sq ft of space or more)
    • Electric heaters – Produce 2500 – 5000 watts (medium sized garage or basement: 500-600sq ft of space)
  4. Still can’t decide? No worries, QC Supply has years of knowledge and experienced associates on hand to properly guide you to the correct model. Give us a call at 800-433-6340.
