I've used these gloves for years for keeping up a medium-sized home garden, as well as for DIY chores such as plumbing. I use them to dig by hand in the soil for weeding, to pull up ivy, to hold limbs while cutting with a reciprocating saw, to hold just about every garden tool large and small, and on and on. They last a great many hours before they wear out. The upper limit to their toughness is perhaps reached when I grab fallen holly leaves--I have to be careful not to get "bitten" even when I'm wearing these gloves. I have heavier gloves for really rough work, but I seldom have to use them.
I use these gloves just about every day. I'm a landscaper in Phoenix, so I deal with cactus and spiny plants on a regular basis. Although these won't stop some of the meanest cactus, it has saved my hand from what I'm sure would have been some serious cuts and deep scrapes. Can't beat the price or quality!
