I used Quat when all 6 of my cats had giardia, and I read that in addition to medication, an ammonium quaternary solution was needed to disinfect all litter boxes in order to prevent the spread and recurrence of this disease. Roccal was recommended but I wanted something cheaper, so I searched and searched online for something until I came across this website. I ordered "Quat" and was amazed at the low price. It has worked wonders. I washed and used Quat as directed on all litter boxes several times a week. The cats are now free of giardia. Be sure to follow directions on the bottle scrupulously. It is an effective disinfectant and for that reason you must wear gloves and observe other precautions while using it.
