too big and loud for my back porch Review by cec3c

Installed on large porch. 24 inch fan is 38" tall and not enough tilt to really blow air directly on us. Porch is 12' x 25' and vaulted ceiling. Too big and loud for me, would never use it beyond low setting. The photo on the website is not right. The bar and bracket extend a lot further down from the fan grill. Am shopping for something else.

Just received and installed. So far very impressed with quality and operation. Was very easy to assemble. I read some derogatory comments on assembling but I had no issues at all. I do have a good assortment of tools and that may be a factor. However it does not take much to assemble. So far I call it a great buy.

Hi, Ordered 2 fans, smooth transaction, shipped quickly and arrived earlier than the UPS tracking estimate. Fans look good, seem well made, move quite a bit of air and reasonably quiet. Now for what I didn't like, tightening the fan blade as already mentioned is hell, and by the way you want to set the blade as far back (close to the motor) on the shaft as possible ( spin the blade to just clear the rear guard ) now the farther back you get the harder it is to tighten unless someone has tools I don't ( a small 5/16" fits but no room ), I was able to get fairly tight after a lot of struggle but still wasn't happy the blade was going to stay on so I put on a very small hose clamp on the outside of the shaft to help hold the blade on. Also those safety grills weigh a TON! I suggest to take the front grill off and probably double the lifespan of the fan oscillator mech. and get a lot better air flow as well, you'll notice it's still protected quite a bit from the back grill and your not likely to not notice it either, but of course depends on your personal situation (kids, ect.). I didn't find limited tilt a problem like some (lower it down maybe?). Anyway, overall I'm happy and they are decent fans.

The fan is made quite well. The purpose for ordering a better made fan was for stable fire safety. My three horses share the fan through the oscillation process. They are happy!

The tilt problem was a bit annoying, but I found that if I turned the brackets around (right on left, left on right), that I got a little more tilt, enough for my needs. It may be my imagination. I can also lower it down the wall if need be. I hope I am not causing a design problem.

The one problem I encountered was tightening the set screw on the fan blade shaft. It took a little work. I could not find a socket to fit the square head. Also I was not sure how far I needed to put the fan on the shaft, so I spaced it equally between the front and back so as not to hit the cage.

We love it. I didn't want a ceiling fan on my patio and this fan works great. We can stop it and have it blowing on just a certain area of the patio or have it cooling the entire patio. 3 speeds. I would recommend it.

Caution before buying!! Review by Harry

Ordered 3 fans and installed. The details of fan show that the fan can tilt 80 degrees. This is so untrue. The fans only tilt 15 degrees @ best. After calling tech support at QC Supply, they also agreed that the fan will only tilt 15 degrees downward. Have fans mounted at approximate 8' in height. If you would like to feel the air movement from the fan I would suggest looking at different types of wall mount fans that allow for more tilt. Fans do move a lot of air, but I'd like to feel the movement of air. Disappointed!!

Due to the design of the mounting bracket on the motor as well as the actual bracket itself, downward tilt is limited to 15 degrees. Full tilt range from top to bottom is 80 degrees. In cases where additional downward tilt is needed, we recommend customer's add a wedge into the mounting bracket.
