Definitely for small spaces 500Watts as long as it is 16" from floor and 18" from ceiling. I am using it in under a cupboard to keep pipes from freezing. Does not get hot to touch so IMO it should be safe. Tried heating the whole room 10 x 10 with 7 foot ceilings and raised temperature from 40 f to 50 f. Not going to work if it is 20 F in room.
