After reading an article in Horse Journal, about the hazards of some box fans I bought this "Cadillac" of fans for the front of my horses stall.
I wanted a fan w/a sealed motor that hay, shavings, grain, dust etc. could not enter.
The price of a box fan being $20 vrs. this being around $90 is well worth the piece of mind that I have now when I leave my fan on all night.
I am hoping that other horse owners where I board my horse throw out their ratty old box fan and buy this "Cadillac" of fans!
The fan motor is very quiet and is a bit more powerful than a box fan, but not so powerful as to create a problem.
I do wish it had a knob vs. the pull string - only because I worry about the longevity of the pull string.
It was very easy to put up in front of the stall bars , I just ran a heavy coated wire through the hole and attached it to a top rail,I added a bungee cord for extra support.
It truly is a nice fan and I am very happy with my purchase.

Love this Fan! We easily installed this fan on the back patio just as temps reached above 90 over the weekend! It provided great relief while doing yard work. This powerful fan was surprisingly quieter than expected and the 9 ft cord was just the right length to reach the outlet. Once installed, the unit is very sturdy. My only complaint is the grate was slightly bent but it was an easy fix.

Installed two 14 in. Fans on our covered patio. Very pleased with the quality of these fans! Air movement is great and not too noisy. Mounted them against the house on the brick with bolts that we bought separately. Should have done this last year to beat the heat in Texas!

The 18 in fan we purchased would be great for somewhere that noise isn't a problem and where it can be mounted at least 12 feet from where you want to feel it. It is very, very loud and blows very hard. We are not going to be able to use it on our porch after all.

I only ordered the 18" to put on the ceiling at the entrance to my barn aisle. It was very easy to install and quiet. I couldn't believe this little fan could make such a big difference. I swear it keeps my barn twenty degrees cooler, it really moves some air. Although I think QC is awesome for great pricing and good customer service, the two nuts and bolts were just loose in the box which wasn't very sturdy, one part of the fan grill was bent, but it didn't affect it's operation. I am very happy with the fan and will be ordering more.

Bought this fan for my parents who live in Baton Rouge, LA where it is very humid climate and hot. They use it on their screen porch, moves the air and circulates very well, they are more than pleased.
They are now interested in buying a mister to attach for the hot, hot months of summer.

I have had four of these fans for a year. They replaced box fans for cooling individual horse stalls when I finally acknowledged to myself that box fans are not safe. These fans are quiet, the air flow is right, and I expect them to last long enough that the cost will compete with box fans. They were easy to hang on the stall front. Putting them at the top of the stall wall for the stalls that needed that was harder, but I made a bracket out of wood that slips over the top of the wall. Keep the cord out of the reach of the horse. They are easy to clean at the end of the season because they can be hosed off before storage.

The fan arrived within a few days of ordering. The installation was simple - just attach with 2 lag bolts which were provided. The bolts on the side of the fan can be loosened to allow the fan to tilt at various angles. It has 3 speeds and even on the lowest speed, it provides a great breeze. It was much less expensive than many of the other outdoor fans we had considered. Shipping was reasonable (about $25 for a 23 lb. item). I highly recommend the fan.

This a a powerful three speed fan used in an outdoor patio area for a restaurant/bar. My only complaint is the clips that hold the front grill on the fan were bent slightly. This was easily fixed with pliers.

These fans are 'OK' for the money Review by Phil in Virginia

I'm a bit disappointed with these fans... They're noisier than expected, especially on medium and high speed. Also, the mounting hardware is such poor quality that one of the heads twisted off when tightening. Unfortunately I couldn't find other affordable outdoor fans so these will have to suffice.

I installed it in our shop lunchroom which has no ac. I mounted the bracket vertically on the wall so it can pivot in two directions. It works better than I imagined and really moves a lot of air for its size.
I didn't like the plastic chain and even though I didn't use the lag screws, the two different size holes led me to believe this fan was made for some other purpose.

I ordered 5 fans for our outdoor patio in South Florida. It is quite humid and we wanted a fan that would stand up to the elements. Our first impression of the fan were very good. We had some mounting issues since we mounted the fan in a corner 90 degree application and needed to secure it from the side portion of the brackets. The fans were apparently made to mount from the rear center since they come with two different size lag bolts.

We are very happy with the fans overall but if you want a lot of air movement try and use a larger diameter fan. These do the job but just barely since they are mounted at about 6.5 ft high.

Powerful, quiet fan - amazing results Review by Smoke-Free Living

Last year the people next door installed a woodstove chimney five feet from the property line. The smoke and fumes were literally everywhere. In our front yard, our vehicles, our house (it even set off the smoke detector and CO alarm INSIDE our home!). It was terrible and our senior family member had awful respiratory troubles all winter long. We offered to pay to relocate the chimney or have a clean-burning natural gas heater installed, but our concerns were mocked and then ignored. WELL... no worries this year! We installed this fan on the eaves of our house, pointed it toward the offending chimney, and VOILA! - no more smoke or fumes. It ALL gets blown back to where it came. This fan is POWERFUL and QUIET and keeps on going no matter what the time, weather, or conditions. We love it! Thanks to this fan we are able to enjoy our home and yard again - as is only right. This fan was the PERFECT solution. No more smoke abuse from the ignorant, thoughtless, idiot "neighbors". No doubt this fan is strong enough to handle most anything you can throw at it.

I installed three of these under the eaves of my house to accompany my misting system. They really move a lot of air. They are heavy duty and seem to be well constructed. You cannot find another outdoor fan better than this for under $200. The only issue I have is the plastic pull chain. The entire fan is heavy duty metal, but the chain is plastic? I am replacing it right away.

This fan on low speed will enable you to use your patio on very warm days. I've mounted my fan on the wall about 10 feet from the seating area. I purchased the misting kit but it hasn't been warm enough yet to determine if I need it (it's been in low 80's).
