Just Twist II Clean™ — easy to install and easy to use inline water filter from Lakos®. TwistIIClean™ removes sand and organics as the water passes through the filter element. Periodic cleaning is necessary to optimize filter performance, reduce pressure loss and prolong product life.
When the filter element looks like it is filled with debris, it should be cleaned. Flush the filter quickly and easily with a 1/4 clockwise turn at the top handle begins the reverse flushing action. In a few seconds, all debris are backwashed off of the filter element and flushed out the bottom of the Purge Exit port.
High performance backflow spin down filter with reusable SS 140 mesh (105 micron) screen offers unique backwash cleaning action without traditional ball valve. Dual threaded inlet/outlet either NTP or BSP in 3/4", 1", or 1 1/2" sizes. High flow rate and 100 PSI pressure rating for increased operating flexibility and minimum pressure loss.

I have a well and this spring the amount of sediment has increased significantly to the point of clogging the filter in just a few days. I am an ex Navy Man and remembered Sea Strainers so I searched for a similar device for residential water systems. There are a few products out there but this one looked like the one with the best "Back Flush" features so I ordered it.
It came with thread to PVC slip/glue adapters which was a pleasant surprise. I installed it before the existing filter and made the final connection to the 3/4" copper with one of those newer slip on solder free fittings so I didn't even have to get out my torch.
It has solved the problem of clogging the other filter and so far I have only back flushed it once. It is truly a simple process to back flush and looks as clean as new when finished.
I am thrilled!
Broken filter clips
In operation 2 days. While removing 100 micron filter for the third time to MANUALLY clean, as the twistIIclean feature leaves the majority of debris on the screen, the retaining clips snapped off. Very weak design. Cold water makes them inflexible?
As advertised but needs a better lock on the t handle that clears the filter
Great addition to my household water system. I have grit and manganese in my well. The TwistIIclean filters out all the larger particles prior to a 50 micron paper filter. It is the easiest backwashing filter I've owned. Once a week I backwash it and it keeps all the crap out of the line that used to collect in the paper filter. Installs as advertised. If your existing plumbing will allow you to cut out a section and install the filter, it is easy. I used compression fittings to the existing 3/4" lines. In my case, I had to reroute the water line, so it was a little more complex, but I don't have a problem with soldering copper water lines.
Looks like a good idea
Haven't used it yet but it looks like a good idea.
Installation was very easy and it works as promised.
Difficult to install
Used the teflon supplied for installation, but it still leaked. Had to reinstall a second time with extra Teflon and had to go buy different fittings.
works as advertised
Was having problems with the inner workings of our water softener getting gunked up with sediment and rust chips. Had a Culligan cloth filter by itself that wasn't quite doing the work. Added this 1st in combination. It seems to be creating a good barrier for the sediment without affecting our water pressure. I really love the twist cleaning function and the ability to see at work through the clear cover. Only downsize is it was a little challenging integrating in with our 3/4" copper piping, but we managed with a little creative routing.
I replaced a screw-off canister filter with the TwistIIClean Inline. Required only one fitting. Took about ten minutes. I'm using it in series with a second canister filter with a fine element. Let the Twist take out the bulk of the sediment since it's easily cleared then the fine one to get the rest. Should cut down on element changes and improve the water quality. Installation was so easy that I couldn't in good conscience reward myself with a beer.
The filter is a real good investment and works really good
