Great product for the pricepoint, few complaints
We use these LV thermostats in our hoophouse installations, and they work really well, and offer nice durability.
Pros - Price, NEMA 4x rating, easy to wire, lots of knockouts, good size inside the box for wiring, etc.
Cons - Knockouts are a bit difficult to remove (drill press is needed, a bit hard to clear all the way around the edges), screws fastening the faceplate on chew up the plastic (worried about long-term corrosion resistance if faceplate needs to be taken on/off often - not usual in most cases).
Great thermostat for wet location!
Good little thermostat so far
I bought this thermostat to replace the one in the King heater in my greenhouse that quit responding to programmed temps. My electrician mounted it next to the heater, and it's working great so far; seems to have less of a range than the original - more like +/- 2-3 degrees rather than the 5 degrees of the original (internal) thermostat. So far so good.
turn it on and walk away!
A very handy thermostat for damp environments.
Keeps the temperature at the proper level for propagating seeds.
first attempt wins
10 minute review and electrical hookup with success for exhaust system for small greenhouse. Would buy same product again if needed. Best price here, as a bonus to it working right.
Good unit, would like to see tighter control on its calibration.
I bought the unit to control a 240 volt 4800 Watt heater to heat an outbuilding to 40 deg so things don't freeze in the winter. This unit works the best of any I have bought so far. However I find that if I want the building heated to 45 deg I have to set the temp on the unit to 50 deg, when the unit is set to 40 deg I am not sure the 240 volt heater turns on at all. I bought an hour meter to find out. A 24 volt furnace transformer outputs to a 24 volt relay, which connects 240 volts to the heater itself. The thermostat is wired to the heat position at 120 volts which powers the primary of the 24 volt transformer, which then sends 24 volts to the heater relay. It all works well. But I am not sure if the thermostat is calibrated correctly. The instructions say plus or minus 3 degrees, but I think its more like 5 deg. The 5 degrees matter in my application, because I store temperature sensitive items. Bottom line, to have the building heated to 45 deg. I have to set the t stat at 50 deg.
I have an infrared thermometer and several thermometer near or at the thermostat and the readings I am reporting are accurate.
I use this thermostat to run barn fans but also the same unit is used to control propane furnaces. It can do this easily by use of a SPDT microswitch.
My thermostats shipped quickly and were put in service the next day. Working well in my greenhouse controlling my fans and shutters.
Very good product
This is a durable, easy to install greenhouse thermostat. I use for greenhouse fan and shutters.
The best thermostat ever!
water resistant heating or cooling applications
"The right product for the job"
I use the Sunne thermostat to control the fan and louvers in my greenhouse. I had to replace my last Sunne after about 6 years. I think that is a reasonable length of time in that moist environment. Easy to install, easy to replace, pretty idiot proof.
